Simple Joys!

Beware of the blogs i post while sitting alone at home with no job whatsoever, for lo, they often take on the melancholy and end up resembling nothing more than bad poetry.

Today I just played that mandy moore song in 'A Walk to Remember' and I danced; and it was good, but it made me ache for things I don’t have right now. Things that aren’t in my control, things that I can only attempt to gain by waiting and remaining open to new people. Two things that are not exactly easy for me. Sometimes I don’t understand the world today; the body language of flirting, the rules and the complex dance of showing interest without revealing yourself too soon. Maybe we should go back to the days of Little Women, like in the old movies, where the moral boys and girls always triumphed in the end. Where waiting was rewarded, flirting looked down upon and simple joys were encouraged.

Yet even that is not enough, because I like the simple joys of being able to ride a bike, having the right to vote and my increased chances of not dying in childbirth. Is there a way to connect all these things in simple lasting ways without reverting to old fashioned romanticism?

Good question.."Is there a way to connect all these things in simple lasting ways without reverting to old fashioned romanticism?"..

..'m not sure abt the answer..but I ges you actually know wat you've to do..as you've said "..things that I can only attempt to gain by waiting and remaining open to new people."..and it has nothing to do with understanding the complexity of showing your interest without revealing yourself...

Good post..that question did make me think!! keep going!!:)

One among the very few number of movies that really made my eyes wet,’ A Walk to remember’ certainly leaves a mark in your memory and life. To be honest I am a person who believes that the love,’Oh so divine and pristine’, exists only in the glories of Tinsel town. After all Cinema is the celebrated visual medium where the most improbable dreams of ours take life. Mankind has always been intrigued by the possibilities of Change and the palest glow in the path to another change has always been utilized by us.
Then there was the orthodox group that complained out and loud about the deluded man’s attempt at destroying the very foundation of our existence and making an early grave for the much revered culture and tradition.Accomodating change while preserving the soul from our genesis has always remained as an Enigma to us. Even in ‘A Walk to remember’ the pure and touching love was not rewarded with an extended lifetime. Just like friction acts against the natural positive displacement (science does provide good metaphors!!), every boon is followed by a bane. Such is the way of life my friend …And it could very well be the omnipresent God reminding us that the World we live in is more Grey than our minds want to accept..

Life after firsts...!

There are in life a few moments that explode with the scent of memory as you jostle them in the attic where such things line the dusty aisle...
